My Hero!

Yesterday we went up to the Freedom Salute in Salt Lake. It was a big awards and recognition ceremony for the soldiers of the 145th. They recognized all the soldiers by giving them a flag in a nice wooden case, a pin, and a metal of some kind! It was really awesome to see all of the soldiers there who served with Brady in Iraq. They are a bunch of neat guys. After they recognized all of the soldiers they gave out some other awards! Much to my suprise, Brady recieved the Bronze Star Award! He didn't know he was going to get this and therefore, I was totally clueless!! I am SO proud of him! This is what his award says, Just so you get an idea of why he recieved it! " For: Exceptionally meritorious service in a combat zone with exposure to risk of hostile action during operation Iraqi Freedom. His outstanding duty during combat operations in Iraq contributed to the overwhelming success of the command's mission. His actions are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon him, mulit-national force-Iraq, and the United States Army!" There is another paper that goes into detail about the things that Brady did and about him being such a great leader and doing his job so well! I am really so proud of him! But Brady being the way he is, doesn't think that he deserves this award. He had a friend killed in Iraq the last time they went over and this is the award that he recieved for what he did. So Brady found it hard to accept the award yesterday. He told me that people receive this award for saving lives and losing lives for their country. He doesn't realize the impact that he must have had on so many people over there. In my mind he is one of the very best soldiers you will find. I am so extremely proud of him not just for receiving the bronze star, but for being there when our country needed him both times. He has been over seas twice, and didn't complain about going either time. He is an awesome leader and has made some awesome friends through his deployments! He knows his duties and does them well. I am so honored to be married to the finest soldier in the world, and the hottest!! I love you with all my heart Brady and am SO proud of you! Congrats again for your very deserving award!!!

Hi Kayla! What a fun surprise!

I totally remember you. I can actually remember how fabulous your jumps were...random.

Anyway, you have a beautiful family! Sounds like you have an amazing husband! I can't imagine how hard it would be to have a husband in the military...I'm very impressed and grateful for all his hard work.

I love that you help with the cheerleaders! I bet it is so much fun.

Hope to hear from you again!

Bravo Zulu!

It is truly an honor of no small importance that you now can wear the Bronze Star proudly!

Such significant recognition does not come easily or cheaply in today's Army. You can be justifiably proud of yourself - just as your family and friends are proud of you, "Twice the Citizen".

Welcome home Ground Pounder!
